Gingerbread Men
Gingerbread Men are passive, naturally spawning mobs that roam the Overworld of Minecraft. They spawn in small groups, with each group having a single leader that the rest follow. They wander aimlessly around the world, attempting to avoid any players that may come close to them.
Behaviour
Gingerbread Men's main weakness is water. Water turns them soggy (just like the blocks), and they are unable to dry themselves off unless they are placed near a fire source. After a certain amount of time being heated by the fire source, the Soggy Gingerbread Men will dry off.
Gingerbread Men drop Gingerbread Dough for building Gingerbread Blocks or making Gingerbread Cookies. They also have a small chance to drop ornaments, and an even smaller chance to drop the Gingerbread Man Ornament.
Gingerbread Men will run from players who come at them with water bucket in hand. When soggy however, they will follow players who are willing to provide them a heat source: holding a "heat emitting" item will cause the Soggy Gingerbread Men to follow you. Heat emitting items include lava, campfires and magma blocks.
Drying a Gingerbread Man
When Soggy Gingerbread Men are placed near a heat-emitting source for 15 seconds, they will convert back into normal Gingerbread Men. Heat emitting sources include: lit furnaces, fires, campfires, magma blocks and lava. This process is hastened if there is a player holding a heat source near them as well.
Conversion will cause them to drop their usual drops, and their rare ornament also drops at a higher chance.
Gingerbread Blocks
Gingerbread Blocks come in three main variants: Dough, Normal and Soggy.
- Block of Gingerbread Dough - these are obtained by crafting the Gingerbread Dough item dropped by Gingerbread Men into blocks
- Block of Gingerbread - Cooking Gingerbread Dough Blocks / Soggy Gingerbread Blocks will give you Gingerbread Blocks
- Block of Soggy Gingerbread - Gingerbread Dough Blocks / Gingerbread Blocks turn into their Soggy variant when they come into contact with water
Using a Hoe will break them faster.
You can obtain their variants (Bricks and Tiles) using stonecutters or via crafting.
