Introduction - jslightham/Zork GitHub Wiki
Zork is one of the earliest interactive fiction computer games and was released in 1980. The text-based game we created, called Escape Casa Loma, follows the same play style as Zork, but shares many similar characteristics with that of an escape room. The objective of the game is to escape Casa Loma before Sir Henry Pellatt, the owner of the castle (and your kidnapper) finds and tries to kill you.
Setting
Escape Casa Loma is set in Sir Henry Pellatt's home, Casa Loma. At the break of day, the player wakes up in a mysterious circular room and is instructed to navigate through a maze of rooms, collecting items for escape and staying alive. Some rooms contain randomly spawned enemies, so it is crucial to obtain items for defence. Several clues left in certain rooms suggest that there are other characters roaming the house.
Plot
The game takes place during an unspecified time, most likely the present. The player steps into the role of a prisoner and must escape the castle before Sir Pellatt discovers their intentions. The player must make their way through the 3 different floors of the castle by unlocking doors and solving riddles asked by the helpful but annoying butlers.
