20220308 Chameleon Luggable - jsheradin/kb_adventures GitHub Wiki
This is the keyboard for an Intel Multibus based luggable network analyzer system (think Dolch but 10 years older). The luggable itself was smashed and was missing the CRT, power supply, and anything copper by the time I got to it. The keyboard was thankfully still intact. It has a nice aluminum case, aluminum handle, thick doubleshot ABS keycaps, and SMK J-M0404 switches.
The switches were ultrasonic cleaned, the plate sanded to bare metal and repainted, and a small window made in the case to accomodate a USB port. Conversion was done with a Teensy 2.0 running Soarer's Controller. The stock IC was desoldered and the Teensy directly connected to the matrix rows/columns.
