🔄 Character Swap Tutorial – Demon Slayer: Hinokami Chronicles
Learn how to swap characters in Demon Slayer by editing mesh data and repacking game files.
In this example, we’ll swap Rengoku with Obanai so you can play as Obanai in battle!
🛠 Tools Required
- UModel – For extracting meshes.
- Asset Editor – For editing mesh references.
- UnrealPak – For repacking into
.pak
format.
📂 Steps

Open UModel
-
Navigate to:
DemonSlayer/Content/Paks

Enable Override Game Detection → Unreal Engine 4, Select Unreal Engine 4.25 Plus, Platform → PC.

Save Folder Packages for the P0012_Rengoku and P0015_Obanai into a dedicated folder (e.g.,
CharacterSwap
).

Copy Mesh Address
-
Open Asset Editor, import Rengoku’s mesh (SK_P0012_V00_C02), and copy its Mesh Address + File Name.
/Game/Art/Model/Plc/P0012_Kyoujuro/V00/C02/Mesh/SK_P0012_V00_C02

Modify Obanai’s Files
-
Import Obanai’s mesh (SK_P0015_V00_C00) into Asset Editor.

Replace its Mesh Address with Rengoku’s copied address.
/Game/Art/Model/Plc/P0015_Obanai/V00/C02/Mesh/SK_P0015_V00_C00
to/Game/Art/Model/Plc/P0012_Kyoujuro/V00/C02/Mesh/SK_P0012_V00_C02

Scroll down and Change the text before Skeletal Mesh from
SK_P0015_V00_C00
toSK_P0012_V00_C02
. -
Rename the Obanai's mesh name (SK_P0015_V00_C00) to (SK_P0012_V00_C02).

Save changes.

Replace & Repack
-
Move modified Obanai files into Rengoku’s folder.

Open UnrealPak Folder, drag your modified folder into Unrealpak-with-compression.bat, and a new
.pak
file is created. -
Place the
.pak
file inside the below folder:C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Demon Slayer\APK\Content\Paks\~mods

Test In-Game
- Launch Demon Slayer: Hinokami Chronicles.
- Select Rengoku → Outfit 2 → You’ll now play as Obanai 🎉.
