Technical Mentors

Please make yourselves available to answer questions and provide light guidance only. Give students a steer, not a solution—this is their opportunity to demonstrate their skills, initiative, and problem-solving.

Please make clear your hours of availability as your student may be in a different timezone.

When reviewing submissions, please consider:

• Code structure and Joomla standards compliance
• Clarity and completeness of documentation
• Creative or effective improvements beyond the brief
• Overall thought process and problem-solving approach

During the Project Periods Technical Mentors:

• All the items in the submissions review
• Perform Code Reviews
• Assist with Pull Request(s)
• Review Documentation

Well-Being Mentors

Throughout all phases, the Well-Being Mentors are on hand to assist both mentors and students with non-technical challenges and questions that may be impeding work.

Other Mentors

There may be other mentors brought in for specific purposes (such UX specialist, API specialist, documentation) and their duties will be outlined at that time.

All members are to remind any student that reaches out to them directly to use Discussions in Github.
