  • ID: ADR-024
  • Status: Accepted
  • Date: 2026-09-10
  • Date meaning: Original dated decision/source section; extraction recorded 2026-10-02.
  • Implementation: No implementation information was recorded in the source status; tickets own progress.
  • Approval qualification: Authorized Phase 6 local outcome; source completion and architecture authorization do not imply full owner manual acceptance or deployment authority.

Context

Workspace search and saved queries browse recorded facts within current project authority without becoming execution or delivery controls.

Decision

Workspace Search reads only recorded application-store facts for Projects, Delivery Goals, persisted Execution Goals, tickets including retirements, current decision-reference versions and the supported History sources. A query carries an explicit record-domain set, deterministic sort and either all currently authorized registrations or an exact byte-preserving registration selection. Each result retains a typed destination identity. A failing domain is reported as omitted and the projection is explicitly incomplete; Search does not query repository files, invoke an external provider or turn partial data into a complete claim.

The working query and named queries are versioned preferences in the existing app-owned SQLite store. Unknown payload versions remain stored, visible and recoverable without dropping or guessing filters. Full application backup and restore include them, and tracking reset preserves them. Restore still rotates the application authority incarnation and project registrations, so a pre-restore query cannot execute until the owner deliberately selects current scope and resaves it. Backup bytes, repository documents and saved query payloads never become registration or delivery authority.

Opening a result uses the exact recorded registration and typed destination. Navigation history preserves query, scope, domains, sort, exact selection, viewport and keyboard/accessibility focus. Browsing may select a nonactive phase for viewing but cannot change the active phase, lifecycle, lane, goal, review, acceptance, notification or other delivery state. Shared Help is likewise a local read-only navigation surface; its actions open existing routes and grant no new mutation or external-service authority. This decision does not add full-file indexing, a provider search contract, portable archive changes or Phase 7 work.
