Sauce

  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1 lb ground meat
  • 6 oz can tomato paste (example)
  • 28 oz can whole tomatoes ()
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 1/4 tea spoon dried basil
  • pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 bay leaf

Lasagna

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 16 oz ricotta cheese
  • 16 oz mozzarella cheese
  • 4 oz shaved parmesan
  • 9x13in baking pan

Cooking

Oven preheat to 350°F

Lodge: Saute onions until soft.

2.5Qt: Saute garlic. Add onions. Add meat, saute until browned.

Add tomato paste. Heat until bubbling.

Add chicken stock, tomatoes. Chop tomatoes. Add salt, basil, cayenne pepper, and bay leaf. Simmer for 15 minutes to thicken.

Divide sauce in half. Mix ricotta into 1 half.

  • Thin layer of pure sauce at bottom of pan.

Bake 45 minutes, covered with foil first 30 minutes
