1. Options

When a batch of data is being processed and a data error occurs, there are only four courses of action. They all have down sides, so the question is not whether you like or dislike a particular course of action, but do you dislike it better than the other three alternatives.

Your options are:

  1. Reject the batch until the quality issues are fixed. - Recommended.

  2. Split the batch and resubmit the error records after correction. - Maybe.

  3. Mark the errors and let them flow through. - Maybe.

  4. Let the errors flow through unmarked. - Avoid.
