If you are interested in this opportunity we’ll guide you through the whole process to make sure you SHINE and success :)

What you’ll do

Coches.com wants to expand and open their business to Portugal. That is why they have thought that a Portuguese Product Manager will be the best person to join their team and help them open a new market in Portugal.

You will be responsible for the whole product, a new website in Portugal and weekly, you will directly report to the directors in Coches.com and to the Portugueses partners that conform this Joint Venture (JV).

You will start working in a ecosystem that boosts creativity, self-improvement and comradeship. The corporate culture implemented, which hates artifacts and being superficial, monthly reunites the whole team for personal and team dynamics to lead innovation to the next stage.

Day by day, you will be specifically trained in a variety of disciplines, SEO, Marketing, CRO, UX… Since Coches.com believes that a PM should have the opportunity to learn about anything. You will realize that your learning curve has just started 🤓

Once you have started working in Coches.com you will wake up every morning thinking about the amazing project you have to develop together with an amazing and multidisciplinary team (backends, frontend, UX designer…), spread out between Portugal and Spain.

Your experience and ideas will always matter and together with the rest of the teams, you will decide the best solutions to implement. In Coches.com they believe in what they do and in the people who does it, that’s why once you know them you will never want to leave.

So, you will be joining them to win and to lead a project whose aim is to become the first car website in Portugal.

After 1 month...

You will have settled in Madrid offices and completed your onboarding. You will have met the team you’ll work with, and you will have learnt all about their way of working and their organization. You will never feel alone since you will work and learn from other PMs of the company.

You’ll start gathering favourite places to have tapas, although you still won’t know all the good ones.

After 3 months...

You’ll already know all your new colleagues, who does what and who can help you out when you feel lost. You will feel part of Coches.com, and its culture.

You will have become another superhero on their team and so you will be an important part of its success because the most important thing at this point is that you will be already making some decisions, since you will hit the ground running as the project is already in the making.

After 6 months...

You will be in the driving seat of the project, all teams will be singing from the same hymn sheet, and the product will probably be about to be removed from the oven. So, while you look over some dashboards, Google Analytics and so on, you will realize that the new portal in Portugal is about to be launched.

This project will be yours and now it will be analyzed from different metrics: web analytics, revenue, impact in the development… At this point, you will keep contributing as much as the first day, making decisions about the new features to come out, and best of all, you will keep learning something new every day, and after the release of the website you still will be able to see and know even more!

How you’ll do it

Working under your own OKRs and KPIs will make you see a clear roadmap that will be accompanied by daily meetings and retrospectives. These internal protocols will ease work among your team and the rest of parties involved in the project as well as it will help all of you to coordinate and sing from the same hymn sheet.

Apart from this, you will:

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap
  • Create and manage Stories in your team’s Jira with new features to adapt to Portugal that no one thought about, but you did.
  • Lead synchronization meetings and backlog Grooming
  • You will be responsible for the QA system/docs of your product
  • Deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification to the team.
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Act as a leader within the company

Who you’ll do it with

In Coches.com they always do things as well as possible and surrounded by the best. For this reason, they have formed a team of heroes that today, more than co-workers, consider themselves friends. Honestly, they like going to work because they are surrounded by the best team, with a degree of brutal cohesion and affinity.

Here you have part of the team you will work with in a daily basis, but the team keeps growing, so you will probably find 3/4 more people once you start working with them 👯

When you’ll do it

The theory is that their working hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. But they reality is that each one adapts those hours to their circumstances. They are very aware of the needs for flexible hours, because they believe in worklife balance, which for them it is not only a beautiful phrase, but a reality.

With regards to working from home, it needs to be said that the whole team practices it regularly. So the fact that today they are all isolated at home, it is a mere anecdote for them. (And it is not a COVID fact, they have been doing it for years) 👩‍💻

Where you’ll do it

They would rather prefer that you work in Madrid offices together with the development team. So if you finally come to Spain, their offices are in the city center of Madrid, right in Sol square, (Calle Alcalá 4). It’s going to be very difficult that you don't like this location!

It’s also true that they are opened to the idea that you work from Portugal (Lisbon) in remote mode but travelling frequently to Madrid, because your team is there. Coches.com will not open offices in Portugal yet, but there is already a sales team working from Santander Bank offices in Lisbon, so you will be more than welcome if you want to go there to join them.
