Using the right cable

The software currently supports a standard Full Handshake RS-232 cable connected between the PC and the Fluke. Please refer to instructions on the Configuration dialog within Fluke900Link for specific information. Baud rates up to 19200 are supported by the Fluke.

Fluke 900 Serial Port Settings

The suggested settings on the Fluke 900 are below:

• BAUD RATE: 19200
• STOP BITS: 1
• BITS/CHAR: 7
• PARITY: EVEN
• MODE: DCE CL
• TIMEOUT: None

PC Serial Port Settings

The settings for the PC serial port should match the Fluke900 above and are configured in the Serial Port settings dialog of Fluke900Link.

At one point I was able to get this running with a NULL Modem Cable. However the software is much more stable using the hardware control signals. More testing is needed to change to using a NULL Modem cable and using XON/XOFF Software control.
