HomematicIP Access Point (HmIP-HAP) as HmIP Gateway As of firmware 3.53.30.x, the HAP can be used as a gateway for extending the range of HmIP devices (exclusively for HmIP devices, for classic HM you still need one or more traditional BidCos-RF LAN gateways).

Attention! An RPI-RF-MOD or HmIP-RFUSB radio module is mandatory for the use of an HmIP-HAP on a CCU/RaspberryMatic. An HM-MOD-RPI-PCB or other radio modules are not compatible.

Procedure for this:

Reset the HmIP-HAP twice: Disconnect the HmIP-HAP from power. Reconnect the power and press the button simultaneously (4 sec.) -> LED flashes yellow. Briefly release the button and press again (4 sec.) -> LED should flash green briefly. Wait at least 10 seconds until the LED lights up blue continuously, then repeat steps i. - iii. In the RaspberryMatic, under "Access points with incompatible FW", the AP should now appear -> perform firmware update. Once the update is complete, you can now teach the AP like a normal HmIP device. However, it may only appear in the "Inbox" after a central restart. In case of problems with teaching or firmware update of a HmIP-HAP

Here's what you should try or check in case of problems:

If you are using the firewall of the RaspberryMatic, the following port must be released: 9293 It might help with problems to block the HAP's internet connection in the router right after the beginning of step 2 so that it has no problems with the cloud software update and therefore does not end up in a red flashing LED. Assign a fixed IP to the HAP if possible, e.g. via the router or via the eQ3 NetFinder tool. Switches with enterprise functions that interfere with multicast traffic (such as IGMP Snooping) can also cause problems, as can the use of DLAN/PowerLine connections between CCU and HmIP-HAP. In case of any teaching problems, "IGMP Snooping" should therefore be completely deactivated in the used switch components and/or completely refrained from using DLAN/PowerLine. If the HmIP-HAP does not appear in the inbox immediately, it may be necessary to restart the CCU central 1-2 times, after which the HmIP-HAP should then land in the inbox accordingly.
