Before you submit

Research Articles

As you prepare your manuscript for submission, you'll want to consult the Submission guidelines and the JCMS Style guide.

You can also review the JCMS Academic Integrity Policy.

Special Issue CFPs

Each JCMS special issue will focus on one timely, field-level question that applies to and/or challenges media studies across its various forms. In contrast to In Focus, JCMS special issues will address the field broadly, while also encouraging authors to remain rooted in the analysis of specific objects, archives, experiences, systems, and/or histories. You can review the current and archived JCMS Special Issue CFPs.

In Focus Dossiers

In Focus dossiers are collections of short essays grouped around a specific theme or sub-field of media studies. Please consult the Proposing an In Focus dossier FAQ page to learn more about the entire In Focus process.

Book Reviews

JCMS welcomes book review and review essay proposals from scholars. For more information, please consult the JCMS Book Review guidelines.
