IDU - jbu313mlb92ome8w/Winegard-Trav-ler GitHub Wiki

See IDU Codebase for the IDU .bins and related files broke down per IDU.

IDU and ODU numbers do not correspond to each other unless there is a @ with the numbers.

Fun Facts:

  • For easier PCB extraction remove fuse before removing allen screws. The fuses are difficult to remove.
  • All of the 3 amp fuses are installed upside down from the factory.
  • The rear rubber feet do not need to be removed to get out the screws. Flip up the feet just enough to get the 5/64th or 2mm allen in and they can be taken out. 5/64th or 2mm fit the same for allen screw (in the kit I'm currently using).
  • Per the sticker inside the IDU, IDU stands for Interface Data Unit.
  • There the same buttons build into the PCB as there are on the enclosure, plus a Reset button.
  • The sticker on the bottom of the enclosure matches the internal sticker.
  • I believe the #s after the "Part Number 1" on the PCB are a serial number. The "IDU Serial #" in the IDU menu shows "UNPROGRAMMED"; likely to streamline mass programming of the units.
  • Some components are different between boards. This appears to link to the "Fabricator Version?" field.
    • The current noticed component differences are:
      • C316, D300
        • Further investigation needed for full component list.
  • The it is no know what "Large Digit" represents but varies on the boards. Maybe a work shift number, but is not near the other manufacture info.
