So my group uses D&D Beyond for character creation and management. If you do not use D&D Beyond and own their content this module is not for you. Mr. Primate is a dedicated master of his craft, with continuous updates, this module allows me to import all the data I have purchased on D&D Beyond. Including characters, monsters, items, maps, adventures, etc. Well worth a few bucks a month on Patreon. For my group of 20+ players, this is a must.
I have changed the configuration extensively above.
- I enabled full sourcebook names since I can never remember the acronyms
- I also like the damage hints to be displayed, they are used by MIDI-QOL as well
- I restrict to trusted users which for me is my GM and occasionally a co-GM
- I like embedding the macros in the items themselves so there is no doubt where the macro being executed is from
- I blanked out my S3 bucket info which is where I store my game data.
- the rest are personal choices of where to place buttons etc and do not affect the game at all.
The CORE game setup is private data, there is a guide to setting this up if you join Mr. Primates Patreon.
The Compendiums are straightforward enough, you create them one with any names you like (I used the defaults) and that is where the data in the game is stored.
I Dynamic DDB Update Setup I have to sync everything except XP, because my groups do not use XP as an experience system.
