Questions

  • What specific actions will I take as a result of this module? (investments to make, experiments to try, tech to investigate, team members to hire, companies to start, assets to sell)
  • What is next? What is new? How do I adapt?
  • What is going to disrupt me / this industry? How do I think about how to incorporate that into my company in new ways?
  • What are the new business models?
  • Ambidextrous Leadership: What are the skillsets I have to combine to operate in exponential times?
  • How do I formulate a good strategic plan? How do I hold myself accountable?
  • What can we do to increase quality?

Mindsets

  • VC Mindset: Place a lot of bets and be ready when change shows up. Listening closely for early signal emerging.
  • Ambiguity: get used to living in the in-between, the world of constant change, work with people who can figure it out and don't need much instruction.

Emergence: When individual agents act in a mass according to simple rules and out the other end comes a highly complex structure you couldn't have planned for and with it a whole new set of behaviors

Leader:

  • You provide the vision and let the teams figure it out
  • You cannot delegate culture, you are the culuture-bearer. Employees want to see & hear & see it, you talk it and walk it all the time.
  • Give team ways of working, what are your ways of working?
  • Find people and coach and encourage them to do it faster & better, to learn, fail, keep going.
