Welcome to the gcam-installation wiki!

Here, step-by-step instructions are provided to set up and install the Global Change Analysis Model (GCAM) and its dependent packages, and run the model for the first time on the University of Virginia's High Performance Computing Cluster, Rivanna.

This repository represents many hours of accumulated knowledge passed down from UVA's research computing and GCAM's model development staffs.

It is intended that a new UVA engineering Master's or PhD student, or postdoctoral researcher will be able to use the provided scripts and accompanying documentation to install GCAM and run the "GCAM reference scenario", and begin working with its output data, while avoiding most (hopefully all) previously-encountered hurdles for beginner users of GCAM and Rivanna.
