Map

The map is the most important thing when you are looking for places to hunt a certain animal. Maps are designed so that they provide the best information about animals' home ranges. Maps also provide locations of outposts, lookout towers, and hides.

The locations are collected only by me. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind that the locations will be missing or will be at different places than you have them. It is highly recommended to take them only as an aid to approximate animals' home ranges.

How it works

You can move and zoom the map like any other. To show the locations of either buildings or zones, you need to activate them in the filter. The filter can be opened by tapping the menu button on the bottom bar. In the filter, to show a building, tap the respective button. To show an animal's zones, tap the respective entry. If you want to show all zones tap the circle button beside the subtitle. You can hide them all by doing the same action.

Displayed

After turning on the locations, they will be shown on the map. Buildings are shown as a white icon of the respective building. Animal zones are shown by colored dots. The color of the dot is based on the animal the dot belongs to. The color of the dots can be changed to the color of the need zone it represents (feeding is green, resting is yellow, and drinking is blue). To do so, tap the leaf button on the bottom menu. A list of displayed animal zones with respective colors will also be shown at the top of the screen.

To hide the controls, long-tap the screen.

Options

Performance mode

The performance mode can be activated in the settings. It is highly recommended for less performant devices. The mode will reduce the number of zones shown on the map by generalizing zones that are close to each other. This may result in the dots being in places they should not be normally.

The map is divided into three zoom levels. The first zoom level is the initial one. It shows outposts, lookouts, and the most generalized locations of animals. If you zoom in more, you will get to the second zoom level. It shows outposts, lookouts, hides, and less generalized positions of animals compared to the first level. The third zoom level can be reached by zooming almost all the way. It shows outposts, lookouts, hides, and the exact locations as if the performance mode was turned off.

At the first or second level, you can change the look of the dots to circles. The circles will represent the home ranges much more clearly. You can change the dots to circles by tapping the circle button on the bottom menu. This option will become unavailable in the third level where the leaf button becomes available in return.

Number of zones

This can be activated in the settings. It shows the number of collected zones in the list of displayed animal zones at the top of the screen. It is displayed in two versions. If the leaf button is not activated, it will show a summary of all three need zones (feeding + resting + drinking) collected for each animal. If the leaf button is activated, it will show a count of each need zone collected for each animal. The second version is unavailable if the performance mode is on.
