The Map Settings page is available from the main menu.

Tiled

The Tiled rendering displays the base map from the tiles generated in the cache. The labels therefore cannot be aligned to the azimuth. This rendering method improves battery life, and is less expensive for devices with older GPUs. Also prefer this method if you don't care about the labels not being aligned with the azimuth.

Hill Shade

Hill Shade rendering is an online feature. The tiles are therefore only available if your device is connected to the network. In addition, to my knowledge, no provider offers this online service anymore. Unless you provide this service yourself, this feature is not usable.

English names

Show labels using the alternative langage, based on latin lettering. This option may not be available with some stylesheets. As an example, the "Standard" style handles this.

Style Sheet

Map data and colors vary depending on style selected. Also a style provides various features. They can be disabled according to your preferences.
