🔥 Galactic Codex Entry: The Obsidian Clade

Faction Type: Warlords, Raiders, Exiles
Primary Colors: Deep Red & Black
Known For: Mercenary syndicates, war-forged relics, fractured command
Motto: “Loyalty is earned. Power is taken.”

🧭 Overview

The Obsidian Clade is not a unified nation, but a volatile swarm of pirate lords, mercenary kings, and exiled warbands bound loosely by shared vengeance. Formed from the ashes of fallen empires, defected Reach commanders, and cast-out AI, the Clade thrives in chaos.

They reject central rule but uphold an iron code of survival, strength, and profit. The Clade rarely builds—they steal, scavenge, and repurpose. Their fleets are mismatched but deadly, their leaders charismatic and ruthless. No one knows exactly how many factions operate under the Clade banner at any given time.

⚔️ Core Values

  • Strength above rank
  • Take what you need
  • Freedom is earned in fire
  • Trust no one blindly

🛠 Structure & Rule

There is no central government. Instead:

  • Warbands operate as autonomous units
  • Forge-Chiefs command territory and fleets
  • The Council of Blades (when it assembles) resolves major disputes
  • Relic Duelings often settle leadership challenges

Weapons are status. Ships are names. Scars are history.

🔩 Technology & Culture

  • Junkyard constructs: Hybrid vehicles made from scavenged wartech
  • Black-market AIs: Forbidden intelligences installed in stolen cores
  • Warp-chained relics: Ancient weapons bound with cyber-tattoos
  • Combat creeds: Personal philosophies encoded in neural ink

Clade culture glorifies survival, treachery, and rebellion. Their art is violence. Their history is oral, scarred into flesh and metal.

🌑 Controlled Planets

Planet: Rhudaxx

Rhudaxx is a rogue planet drifting without a star, its surface lit only by volcanic fissures and electrical storms crackling across metallic plains. It was once a mining world, stripped bare and left to die—until the Clade returned. Now, it's a den of warbands, smugglers, and fractured AI remnants coexisting in armed tension.

Whole continents have been converted into nomadic cities on treads, constantly moving to avoid seismic collapse zones. Barter, bloodsport, and backdoor tech deals are the norm here. The Obsidian Clade calls Rhudaxx their ‘forge-world,’ where steel is earned through survival and treachery is considered just another form of trade.

Planet: Halixor

Halixor is an irradiated moon orbiting a gas giant, shrouded in thick clouds of ash and magnetic storms. The Clade uses it as a black market node, hidden from conventional star charts and defended by cloaked drones and mine fields. Its spaceports are carved into the sides of lava-churned cliffs, reachable only by coded descent vectors.

Every faction with something to hide has done business here—ancient weapons, stolen relics, even forbidden gene-serums are all traded in the underground vault-cities. Loyalty lasts only as long as payment clears, and everyone’s eyes glow with suspicion. Halixor runs on secrets, and the price of silence is steep.

Planet: Braalor

Braalor is a dead colony world, its cities hollow and silent, preserved beneath layers of dust and time. The Clade scavenges its ruins for lost technologies, believing it to be the final resting place of a pre-collapse warlord they consider a demigod. Their rituals involve excavating databanks and burning old archives as offerings.

Ghosts of the past are said to whisper through old intercom systems and flashing emergency lights. The Clade doesn't fear them—they listen. Many believe Braalor is cursed, but for the Clade, it’s sacred ground. Here, death is a source of power, and memory is a weapon sharpened by grief.

Planet: Ossurian

Ossurian is a shattered moon, cracked into drifting fragments connected by massive chains of magnetized alloy. The Clade uses it as a mobile shipyard and weapons depot, with each fragment home to a different warband or outlaw syndicate. Travel between fragments is done via jetpack corridors and repulsor bridges.

Combat drills, pirate raids, and feuding warlords make Ossurian a place of constant motion and chaos. It is here that the Clade’s best weapons are forged and tested—in real combat. Each moon-splinter is a kingdom, each warlord a tyrant in orbit. There is no peace, only reputation.

Planet: Drelgar-7

Drelgar-7 is a hollowed-out asteroid cloaked in stealth fields and warped-space corridors. Inside, an artificial black market sprawls through zero-G tunnels and multi-layered vaults. Vendors drift weightlessly, offering everything from relic AI cores to voidstone narcotics banned across known space.

The Clade rules Drelgar-7 through a rotating council of pirate lords and data-brokers. Betrayal is expected, alliances are transactional, and the only law is enforced by bounty. It is the hidden pulse of a faction built on rejection, revenge, and the freedom to take what others would guard.

🌌 Diplomacy & Threat Assessment

The Clade is unpredictable. Some warbands form short-term alliances. Others raid without mercy. Bribes, pacts, and betrayals are all part of doing business.

Faction Stance
Sovereign Reach Hated (seen as deserters and heretics)
Aetherion Concord Distrusted (too abstract to exploit easily)
Synex Dominion Feared (AI-hunters and data thieves)
Hivebound Coalition Opportunistic raiders
Celestial Pact Targeted (valuable archives and relics)

“We don’t follow flags. We follow flame. The kind that burns away weakness.”
