Resulting silicone molds

Stem Cavity

The Stem cavity Mold is used to make the internal part of the keycap, this includes the stem which mounts onto the keyboard keyswitch, and a makers mark if desired. The resulting stem cavity mold can be used with any mold made using the master base or sculpting base.

The Stem cavity should be printed using an SLA / MSLA / DLP style resin 3d printer

Master Base

The master base is made to hold an existing keycap to make a mold - this could be a blank keycap from a standard keyset or a copy of one of your own keycaps. Correct orientation is where the rounded corner registration is on the top right.

The Master base can be printed using either an FDM or resin 3d printer

Sculpting Base

The sculpting base is designed to sculpt your design on to using a sulphur free modeling clay. Oil based clays such as NSP Chavant or Monster are the preference of many artisans. Correct orientation is where the rounded corner registration is on the top right.

The Sculpting base can be printed using either an FDM or resin 3d printer

No hassle Container

The No Hassle container is used to put any of the other mold parts into, and then to pour the silicone into while it sets. This component can be substituted with LEGOs however it makes the demolding and cleanup process much faster.

The No Hassle Container is best printed using an FDM 3D Printer
