HoloLens: Reset your Windows Device Portal credentials - idmwy/HoloLens GitHub Wiki

First, make sure you enable Device Portal on HoloLens, please use the following steps to check or enable:

1. Power on your HoloLens and put on the device.
2. Perform the bloom gesture to launch the main menu.
3. Gaze at the Settings tile and perform the air tap gesture. Perform a second air tap to place the app in your environment. The Settings app will launch after you place it.
4. Select the Update menu item.
5. Select the For developers menu item.
6. Enable Developer Mode.
7. Scroll down and enable Device Portal.

To access the Windows Device Portal you have setup an username and password in the past. But for some reasons username/password combination sometimes be forgotten or you do not own the device. There is an easy trick to reset the password of the Windows Device Portal. using usb cable to connect the HoloLens device to your computer. Access Windows Device Portal through http://127.0.0.1:10080.

A popup is shown requesting an username and password. Leave both blank and press the "OK" button for 4 times. Then the system will return the following page:

Press the “Request pin” button that allows to do a credentials reset of the Windows Device Portal.

Enter the pin which is displayed inside the HoloLens device and enter a new username and new password. The old credentials are replaced after you have paired the HoloLens device again.
