If you want to use HoloLens Emulator, you need to upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro. There are two methods to do: One is to do a fresh install of Pro, while the other is to install Pro on top of Windows 10 Home. We'll focus on this second method here because the computer likely came installed with Home.

Upgrade Windows 10 Home to Pro via the Windows Store

  1. First, make sure your PC doesn't have any pending updates.
  2. Next, select the Start Menu, then select Settings.
  3. Select Update & Security.
  4. Select Activation on the left-hand menu.
  5. Select Go to the Store. This will lead you to the Windows Store where you can purchase the upgrade by selecting the Buy button.
  6. Log in with your Microsoft account, then enter your payment method. Windows will upgrade in no time flat.

Upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro via a License Key/Digital License

  1. Make sure you're up to date on any Windows Updates.
  2. Navigate again to Start Menu > Settings > Updates and Security > Activation.
  3. Under Activation, select Change product key.
  4. Enter the 25-digit Windows Pro Product Key.
  5. Select Next. If your key is correct, the upgrade will start, and you'll soon get a message that Windows has been upgraded.

Error 0xc004f050 when trying to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro

If the key is genuine and is correct, when you enter the Windows 10 product key, you get this error (0xc004f050). To fix this issue:

  1. Disconnect from the Internet.
  2. Enter the Windows 10 Pro upgrade key:VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T.
  3. Let the upgrade finish. The computer will restart.(If it hangs at 100%, wait 5 minutes and manually restart the computer.)
  4. After the restart, connect the Internet. To simply active Windows by enter the original Windows 10 pro product key. Click Start > Settings > Update & security > Activation > Change the product key then enter the new product key then click Next to Activate.
