IDEA StatiCA Grasshopper

This page briefly introduces a Work In Progress plugin for Grasshopper3d, a visual programming package attached to McNeels Rhino3d CAD software.

IDEA StatiCa is actively developing a parametric framework for the development of complex modelling and parametric optimisation of connections and other structural details for people used to visual programming applications of which Grasshopper3d is the first implementation.

About

The Grasshopper plugin consists of the following primary parts:

1. Components to generate IDEA Open Model
2. Components to interact with IDEA Design App API's.

Open Model Components

Open Model Components provide components to generate IDEA Open Model.

This includes:

• Importing, creating and modification of IDEA Open Model.
• Explicit modelling of Members, plates, bolts, cuts and welds within Grasshopper.
• Geometric Conversion between IOM and Rhino Geometry
