Introduction
SPACE GASS is a multi-purpose 3D analysis and design program for structural engineers and has developed an in-house application that allows the export of single or multiple IDEA StatiCa Connection files in their Structural Analysis model.
Case Study
SPACE GASS provides a button in their drop-down UI to 'Export' IDEA StatiCa Connections. Below is a dialog of the options once the drop-down item is selected.
The app allows:
- The user to select which nodes to export - A separate IOM is written for each connection.
- The selection of which load cases to write to the Open Model Result file.
- Detection of continuous members to align with IOM's

: SPACE GASS only has node-to-node elements in the program so they provide the option to join multiple elements into one member in the IOM. The elements still form part of the Member created. - Selection of the Country Code to apply to the IOM project as well as the Folder where the connection Files will be written.
Connection Export:
SPACE GASS provides an option on whether to use the currently installed Version of IDEA StatiCa Connection OR the online service available for creating connection files.
