Goal

I want to improve my home's heating.

While I'm at it and

• distribute temperature sensors around the house,
• distribute relays that open and close the heating valves,
• control the Buderus Heater

I would like to take advantage of an integrated home automation solution that has already solved the mundane tasks and

• provides nice GUIs for displaying measurement data and actor status,
• stores data measurement data persistently as long as needed and auto-rotates old data away,
• already provides some means to gather data that could influence the heating (whether data, window status, presence),
• allows to specify rules for controlling the heating based on all the data,
• allows integration of other nerdy stuff around the house later.
