Circular Connector Wiring Guide (Enclosure and Sensor) - hydrogeologger/pyduino GitHub Wiki
The following guide depicts the wiring format for circular connectors used on enclosure and sensor cable side.
General
The following table describes a 4-pin mapping of a circular connector, for a 3-pin just follow up to pin #3.
Pin # | Wire-Colour | GeneralDescription | Serial |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Red | V+ | V+ |
2 | Black | V- / GND | V- / GND |
3 | White* | Data | Tx from Sensor |
4 | * | Misc / Heater | Rx from Sensor |
* Wire colour is a guideline, please use consistent wire combinations
I2C
Pin # | Wire-Colour | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Red | V+ |
2 | Black | V-/GND |
3 | White* | SCL |
4 | Green* | SDA |
* Wire colour is a guideline, please use consistent wire combinations
Davis Wind Anemometer
Pin # | Wire-Colour | DavisWind | Pin # (Legacy**) | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Yellow | V+ | 3 | |
2 | Red | GND | 1 | |
3 | Black | Wind Speed | 2 | |
4 | Green | Wind Direction | 4 |
** Note - Legacy pin numbering is based on wire color instead of functionality. Only included for archival reference purpose.
Enclosure Connector Wiring NOTES
Metal Connectors
When using metal connectors for SDI-12 sensors, it has been noted that when there is no sensors connected, a pull down resistor is required to prevent logger from detected false sensors. Recommended 47k Ohm per sensor channel.
