Stakeholders in Business Analysis
What is a Stakeholder?
A stakeholder is any individual, group, or organization that:
- is affected by a change/project/solution
- can influence the change/project/solution
- has an interest in the outcome
- has the power to impact success or failure
In BABOK terms:
"A stakeholder is a person or group with an interest in or influence over the initiativeβs outcome."
Why Stakeholders Matter in Business Analysis
- They define needs and value
- They provide requirements (or constraints)
- They approve, reject, or delay solutions
- They are the source of conflicts and priorities
- Poor stakeholder management β failed projects
Main Categories of Stakeholders
