The Vortex Stone is an enchanted piece of ice that allows the player to fling themselves through the air.

Obtaining

The Vortex Stone is made by transmuting Packed Ice with Flow Power. This can only be done if the Flow is stabilized; see the Capture the Breeze Object of Study.

Usage

Right clicking with the Vortex Stone launches the player forward, causes a wind gust effect behind them, and reset their fall damage. The player will always launch directly towards their facing direction. After use, there is a configurable cooldown. By default, this cooldown is just slow enough that the player cannot hold right click while facing upward to infinitely gain height. The item also takes damage when it is used.

In Zero Gravity

In water or with the Weightless potion effect, this item can be used to fly freely in the air. However, it does have a top speed of 1.6 blocks/tick; any attempt to thrust faster than this will not work.
