Area Memory - hjake123/reactive GitHub Wiki
The Crucible maintains an internal model of certain blocks within its radius of effect (configurable), and adjusts its behavior according to their presence. This model is known as the Area Memory.
For performance reasons, the Area Memory only updates itself sporadically, so sometimes it will take a noticeable amount of time for the Crucible to react to the addition of new blocks -- though removal of blocks is accounted for immediately.
Following is a list of every kind of block the Crucible searches for, and what they change about its functionality.
Copper Symbol
- Permits the Crucible to gather Power from other nearby blocks.
Iron Symbol
- Prevents the Crucible from gathering Power, even if there is a Copper Symbol.
- Prevents the Crucible from collecting Power from nearby death, including Curse from dying undead.
- Prevents summoning with the Crucible.
- Prevents Explosion reactions from destroying their associated Gold Symbol.
Gold Symbol
- Acts as a Stimulus for various reactions.
Inert Staff of Power
- Responds to released Power if the Crucible is emptied while it is nearby. See Staves of Power.
Mounted Blaze Rod
- Allows gathering of Blaze power.
- Causes summoned spirits to instead be Blazes.
Nether Portal
- If a Copper Symbol is nearby, causes Power to be slowly removed from the Crucible.
- At 81.5% Mind and over, also crystalizes into Crystalized Nether Portal.
Conduit
- Allows gathering (world specific: Soul or Warp) power passively.
End Rod
- Allows gathering Light power passively.
Occult Symbol and Wither Skeleton Skull
- Allows gathering Curse power passively.
Divine Symbol
- If a Copper Symbol is nearby, causes Curse to be quickly removed from the Crucible.
