This User Agreement regulates the relationship between "us" ("Hippo Games", the developer of "Pixel Studio") and app "users".

1 Common

"Pixel Studio" is an app for creating and editing pixel art images. We made "Pixel Studio" for personal and commercial use. The app provides in-app purchases, subscriptions and contains ads. The app can display extra content (promotional and marketing materials, weather forecasts).

2 User-generated content

"User-generated content" is any kind of content created by users in Pixel Studio (images, animations, fonts). User-generated content fully belongs to users (authors).

3 Permissions

The app can request permissions:

  • show push notifications
  • access files on user devices
  • access files on Google Drive

5 Privacy policy

The app collects the following information:

  • advertising ID for serving ads (the FREE version only)
  • device ID, crash logs and user actions for analytics
  • user ID and public profile (depending on platform), email (when possible) and OpenID (OAuth) for creating accounts in Pixel Network
  • gender, age, country and bio in user account details in Pixel Network (optional)

All data is encrypted in transit. We don't share data with third parties (ad and analytics platforms are not considered as third parties).

Users can request account deletion (refer to 6.7 for more info).

6 Pixel Network

Pixel Network is a social community for pixel artists. Users can create accounts in Pixel Network (not required for app functionality). Users can publish user-generated content on Pixel Network and make it public.

6.1 Copyrights

All copyrights remain with authors. Other users are not allowed to use your artworks in any ways (including modification, appropriation and selling), except sharing with attribution.

6.2 DMCA

Pixel Network is compliant with Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

6.3 Granting permissions

By publishing in Pixel Network, users grant us the following permissions:

  • display content inside and outside the app with attribution (including sharing on social networks)
  • use content in promotional and marketing materials
  • allow other users to share content (including social networks)
  • allow other users to cache/download content

6.4 Extra content

Users can publish animated images with and without audio content. Users should have appropriate license (or permission to use) for audio content, if included. Users can also leave comments on others content in Pixel Network.

6.5 Disallowed content in Pixel Network

  • images made by other users (reposted, reuploaded, modified, with/without attribution, appropriated/stolen)
  • audio content that violates copyrights
  • NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content the viewer may not wish to be seen viewing in a public, formal or controlled environment. NSFW content may contain violence, pornography, profanity, nudity, slurs or other potentially disturbing subject matter.
  • disrespective, abuse, discriminatory, racist and other destructive content
  • NPA (Not Pixel Art), including photos, traditional and digital art

6.5 Reporting

Users can report disallowed/inappropriate content in Pixel Network inside the app or contacting us by email ([email protected]). We can remove reported content from Pixel Network, as well as other content we consider inappropriate. Pixel Network accounts can be terminated (banned) for posting disallowed content (images, comments and other).

6.6 Selling arts

Users can make user-generated content for sale. Our platform does not provide any financial instruments for selling content, users should contact authors directly for any questions.

6.7 Account deletion

Users can request account deletion inside the app by completing the following steps:

  1. open Pixel Network from the Main menu
  2. sign in to Pixel Network
  3. open your profile and press Options
  4. select Update info and the press 3 dots at the bottom right

6.8 Uploads deletion

To reduce storage size used by Pixel Network and search optimization, unpopular uploads may be automatically deleted based on the following criterias:

  • "Liked" count < 10 and uploaded more than 1 year ago
  • Size > 128 KB, "Liked" count < 20 and uploaded more than 3 months ago

7 AI-generated content

"AI-generated content" is any kind of content created by AI (Artificial Intelligence), no matter if and how it was modified by users. AI-generated content is not considered "user-generated". Pixel Studio can be used to open, edit and save AI-generated content. AI-generated content is allowed to be published in Pixel Network (Made with AI tag is required).

8 NoAI tag

The NoAI tag indicates that such content can't be used by AI systems, including Deep Learning. It works the same way as on other platforms like ArtStation. Please note that the NoAI tag doesn't provide any protection mechanisms, and your content will be still publicly accessible.
