Locating files - hippogamesunity/PixelStudioHub GitHub Wiki
For most platforms, the operaing system (OS) creates a sandboxed (isolated) path for each app to store files, and each app has permissions to only access its' own path. You will see Pixel Studio working folder when saving files and browsing files from Gallery.
Information for Android users:
Your working folder is
- /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.PixelStudio/files (usually you can't access it from a device directly)
When your device is connected to PC, don't forget to:
- unlock your phone
- enable USB File Transfer (Charging option may be selected by default)
Open Explorer and select your phone's internal storage. The path can be like this:
- This PC\YOUR_PHONE_NAME\Internal shared storage\Android\data\com.PixelStudio\files
Note that Pixel Studio files will be deleted when uninstalling the app. Please refer to Storage updates in Android 11 for more info.
Information for iOS users:
You'll find Pixel Studio folder located in the root directory, just use Files app.
Important notice! Pixel Studio files shall be deleted after deleting Pixel Studio app, please keep it in mind.
You can also use Share option from Main Menu. For example, you can send a project via email in any format: PSP, PNG or GIF (GIF will be send as a static image, it's a known limitation on iOS). Or you can save it to Photos with Share dialog (only as PNG or GIF).
Pixel Studio supports File Sharing. To access Pixe Studio files from Mac do the following steps:
- unlock your device
- connect it to Mac
- open iTunes
- press a small button with device icon, your device overview should open
- select File Sharing
- select Pixel Studio
For more info about iOS File Sharing please refer to Apple documentation.
Unfortunately, I don't know if there is a way to use File Sharing feature on Windows PC. At least I'm not able to transfer my files directlry from iPad to Windows 10.
Information for Windows and macOS users:
Pixel Studio stores all files in 'Pictures/Pixel Studio' (on both Windows and macOS). Simply use Explorer/Finder to access it!
Restoring backups
If Backup feature is enabled from Settings, Pixel Studio will save backups to 'Pixel Studio/Backup' folder. To restore any backup, simply open it, or move PSP file to working Pixel Studio folder using any file manager.
