This page describes how to download and install Raspberry Pi Imager and how to prepare Raspberry Pi OS Lite (64-bit) Micro-SD card.

Requirements

Raspberry Pi OS Lite (64-bit) is compatible with following Raspberry Pi models:

• Raspberry Pi 3B.
• Raspberry Pi 3B+.
• Raspberry Pi 3A+.
• Raspberry Pi 4.
• Raspberry Pi 400.
• Raspberry Pi CM3.
• Raspberry Pi CM3+.
• Raspberry Pi CM4.
• Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W.

Install Raspberry Pi Imager

Download and install Raspberry Pi Imager with following steps:

1. Open https://www.raspberrypi.com/software/ in browser.

2. Download and install Raspberry Pi Imager for your operating system: Windows, macOS or Linux.

Raspberry Pi OS Lite (64-bit) Micro-SD card

Prepare Raspberry Pi OS Lite (64-bit) Micro-SD card with following steps:

1. Start Raspberry Pi Imager

2. Click on "CHOOSE OS".

3. Click on "Raspberry Pi OS (other)".

4. Scroll down in list and click on "Raspberry Pi OS Lite (64-bit)".

5. Click "CHOOSE STORAGE".

6. Click storage device.

7. Click "Write" to start writing Raspberry Pi Lite OS (64-bit) to storage device.

8. Click "YES" to continue.

9. Wait for Raspberry Pi Imager to finish writing.

10. Eject storage device.
11. Insert storage device in Raspberry Pi and power on Raspberry Pi.
