This documentation is done in group by Reshma Chowdary , Jaya bindu , Spandana Thumma , Keerthi , Gayathri As I am using windows operating system I have installed Virtual Box

# How to install Virtual Box :

  1. open Virtual Box and download virtual box based on your os.
  2. After downloading the virtual box .exe file install it by running the exe file.
  3. I have installed the default version by clicking next, if you want any specifications you can select or clear the options.

After installing virtual box I have installed kali linux in the virtual Box

# Kali Linux installation

1.open kali linux 2. you can choose the appropriate version and the image you want to download. As my system is 64 bit , I have downloaded the 64 bit installer. 3.Now open virtualbox and click on new 4.Now give the name and after the folder which contains the Virtualbox 5.In iso image field upload the image we have downloaded in the 2 nd step and give it will take type as linux , version ubuntu 6.Later it will ask for Memory and processor . I gave my memory as 2048 and 1 CPU and click next and it will show summary, click finish. 7.On the left side of the page you can see linux created with the name you have given.Now click on start button of the new linux you have created. 8.Now it will pop up a kali linux, select graphical install. 9.select the language and location 10.It will take some time to configure the network. Enter the hostname , I gave mine as linux. 11.If you want you can give domain name also. 12.It will ask you to enter your name and also username and enter the password you want to use. 13.Select the time zone , I have selected EST. 14.you can select the partition disks, I have selected to use my entire disk and all files in one partition. 15.It will take some time to install base system. 16.After installation reboot the virtual machine. 17.Enter the user name and password, you will get kali linux.
