Issue
- 1662: Research EPIC: Printing/Downloading PDFs Usability Testing
- 2566: Dev: Add Action button to page 5 of Project
Problem Statement
During the original RP011 usability testing interviews, updates were made to page 5 of the TDM Calculator that caused the testing script to introduce bias into the interviews. The change was to a button on page 5 summary which caused the text on the button to change to the word "action." This directly impacted research, as in our script we asked the interviewees to "take action to download and print the project from page 5 of the calculator. You do not need to complete the action of printing the page, but please walk me through the steps you would take to print." By asking the user to take an action while the button also reads "Action" it becomes a leading question and therefore skews the data. Additionally, not all users interviewed had the "Action" button active so the tests were inconsistent.
Potential Solution
The UXR team determined that another round of testing was neccessary to ensure the data was not baised. The script was altered to remove the word "action" and the tests would be conducted with all new interviewees.
Feasibility Determination
The re-testing of RP011 will not impact the UXR team too greatly as the script only requires minor edits and all the other required assets are already created/can be re-used (no need to rewrite a research plan, recruitment message, etc.).
