⛔ DR: Hide projects from all admins - hackforla/tdm-calculator GitHub Wiki

Issue
Problem Statement
We need to design a way for LADOT administrators to hide projects on the My Projects page from all other administrators.
Per this comment in #1357, individual LADOT administrators are expected to encounter projects on the My Projects page that they know are no longer relevant to the work any administrators are doing. They don't want those projects to build up and clutter the My Project page's results, so they need a way for administrators to remove those junk projects from the view of all administrators rather than per individual.
Potential Solution
Feasibility Determination
We have not developed or prioritized this feature: the hide feature currently only hides for everyone, not specific users.
We are working on a way for snapshots that are shared with you to show up on the My Projects page, the way they do for Admins, who can see all projects (you can tell the difference between your snapshots and snapshots shared with you because you can see who is the creator). We realized there might be a use case where someone shares a lot of snapshots with another user (e.g., when an employee leaves their employment). In order to share the snapshots, a new user would need to create new projects out of them and then re-snapshot them. This would leave the user with many versions of a snapshot which they therefore might want to hide but can't because only the owner of the snapshot or project can hide them.
We therefore decided to remove this feature (which would have allowed admins to hide projects/snapshots from other admins) from the roadmap, since it seems individual hiding is more important. See this comment in #1357 for stakeholder input into this decision.
#2005 was therefore closed as Not planned
in favor of #2163.
