COMMUNITY OPEN ROLES

Community Lead

The Hack for LA Product/Project Management Community of Practice is in need of a Community Lead. We currently do no have any leads running the community so we need someone (ideally a small team, actually) who can roll up their sleeves and create a space that supports and energizes the Product and Project Managers who make sure the Hack for LA projects are a success.

We would like to start building out a small team to lead the community, but here are the broad strokes of what is needed:

• Planning and leading the Friday CoP team meetings
• Keeping wiki documentation up-to-date
• Maintaining the CoP Project Board
• Welcoming new PMs on Slack after every onboarding
• Creating programming for community
• Organizing community projects, overseeing PMs running community-centric projects
• Participating in monthly planning meetings with the other CoP leads (UX/UI, Ops, Engineering, Data Science)
• Onboarding/Offboarding other PM CoP leads

Skills needed or willing to be learned:

• Creating GitHub issues
• Kanban management
• Agenda creation
• Creating and managing Zoom rooms
• Editing GitHub wikis with markdown
• Team communication

Time commitment: 5-6 hours a week

• 1 50-minute PM CoP meeting a week
• 1 50-minute PM CoP leads meeting a week
• 1 50-minute HfLA CoP leads meeting a month
• 3-4 hours of task work
