Summary of Research

Question

  • What are the key metrics for Program’s analysis, and the impact and scope of the volunteering experience at Hack for LA?
  • What are the transferable skills acquired by the volunteers at Hack for LA during their experience?

Purpose

The purpose of this research is to understand

  • The transferable technical and non technical (soft) skills that the interns at Hack for LA would be learning.

  • How to extrapolate said skills into the Internship Program and use them as objectives and KPIs to enhance and analyze the learning experience of the program

  • The impact and scope of the HfLA volunteering experience, which will help us in communicating value of the Internship Program

  • How to devise, schedule, and allocate projects and issues for interns from different backgrounds, which would help them in learning, practicing and implementing industry-ready & cross-functional skills

Methods

An interview script was created with a range of qualitative and quantitative questions. Responses have not been collected yet.

Current Status

Currently, an interview script with questions have been finalized. However, eligible participants are yet to be decided and recruited. Interview instructions were to be reviewed, however, that task has been placed in the icebox with the dependency for the script questions to be finalized. Task is linked below.
