To what extent do mentors successfully understand the goals of the internship?
What gaps in knowledge, if any, do mentors experience during the onboarding?
What challenges, if any, do mentors perceive themselves to be an effective mentor?
What challenges, if any, do mentors perceive in being an effective mentor?
To what extent do mentors perceive themselves as being an effective mentor?
To what extent do mentors’ perceptions of themselves change over the course of the internship?

The purpose of this study is to understand:

The extent to which mentors successfully understand the goals of the internship.
The gaps mentors experienced during onboarding:
- The information that mentors should have received before onboarding.
- Additional questions that mentors have that were unanswered during onboarding.
- The kind of support (not previously defined during onboarding) that mentors need moving forward.
Perceived challenges or barriers to being an effective mentor.

A pre-post survey will encompass the following:

Intake surveys were completed for all but one mentor.
There weren't enough mentors to do any major quantitative analysis beyond descriptives.
