The mod and app has been designed with data privacy in mind.

Login

When you login via Google or create an account the only information that is shared with Sentient Sims is your email which is purely for authentication to Sentient Sims cloud resources and will not be looked at or used for any other purposes. This is stored using best security practices in AWS Cognito.

Save Data

All save data is local to your computer including location descriptions, sim descriptions, and all memories of your gameplay.

Debugging and Reporting Bugs

If you need help with debugging and you click "Send Logs" it will send information about your computer, how the mod is configured, and information about how the sims 4 is configured to help you get your mod working. The information is anonymous when sent until you "claim" the id that is sent to me. The information is sent to Discord and once reviewed I delete it from Discord which exists in a private channel only the Devs can see.

If you report a bug, you can choose to remain anonymous via the in-game report bug button.

OpenAI

If you use OpenAI as a backend, each interaction and generation is shared with OpenAI.

Your OpenAI API key is never shared with Sentient Sims. Keep this safe and NEVER give it to anyone, treat it like a password. If someone steals your key they can rack up a big bill on your account if you do not have limits set in place. Make sure to set a hard limit in your billing settings https://platform.openai.com/account/billing

Sentient Sims AI

If you use Sentient Sims AI as a backend, each generation is done securely to our servers using security best practices. No content is looked at or saved. Usage data is collected (how many times the AI is used) to understand how well the API is working so I can make code changes and understand if I need to buy more GPUs.

Local/Remote AI

If you run a local version of a model you can keep all data within your own PC, no data will transfer outside of it.

Privacy Statement

As of Jan 8, 2024, Sentient Sims has not received any national security letters, FISA orders, or any other classified request for user information pursuant to the United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or any other law enforcement authority, in any country.

We believe in transparency and the privacy of our users. Unless prohibited from doing so by law, we will remove this statement and provide a transparency report should we ever be legally compelled to disclose user information.
