Why not use static routes on every newtwork - griffinsnest/tech-Jorunal-1 GitHub Wiki

Why don't we use Static Routing for everything?

One of the big problems with setting up a static connection between each subnet in a network is that it makes the configuration complexity increase dramatically as the network grows. Basically meaning that managing the static configurations in this network can become very time-consuming the more and more nodes/subnets are added to it. Moreover, while it is certainly possible with enough time and manpower, it is far harder to maintain this manual set up per subnet than simply routing automatically, so the bigger the network like gets would amount to an overly arduous task to set up for the action to be worth it.
