Setting up the Gridcoin-Research Wallet

Setting up your wallet is the first thing on your list of things to do when you start with a new asset. This How-to page will go trough the steps and explain the necessary linger used for it.

Obtaining the Wallet

The following wallet installation files can be found at at the Gridcoin.us website, we are linking them here for convenience but you should always check the source before installing something.

Windows

• Windows has one MSI File that can be installed trough a setup program

Linux

Linux has a few more options:

• OpenSuse/Fedora RPM package
• Debian/Ubuntu DEB package
• Archlinux AUR package
• GitHub Source

Installing

Windows

First we run the installation MSI file. Once the installation is complete we need to set up the wallet with some basic settings to make it work with the network. We do this by editing the gridcoinresearchd.conf file located in the folder
