#About PlexforBoxee PlexForBoxee is a Plex Media Server app for the Boxee Box produced by D-Link. The Boxee company has since been purchased by Samsung so Boxee software is no longer being developed.

One of the great advantages of the Boxee Box is the ability to stream movies from an NFS or Samba share. However, other mediaplayers like Roku do not have this ability. If you have both a Boxee Box and another mediaplayer like a Roku you might want to view your media the exact same way on every device.

PlexforBoxee was originally created by Mike McMullin (xmcnuggetx) and currently being developed by Grant McWilliams and Hamish McNeish.

PlexforBoxee is not made to be a clone of the official Plex app on other mediastreamers for multiple reasons - primarily because the official Plex app performs poorly on the Roku. You will notice that PlexforBoxee on a Boxee Box is much much faster than the official Plex app for Roku.

###How it works

PlexforBoxee provides a custom Boxee Box application repository which includes the PlexforBoxee application and a signature file to allow your Boxee to install it. Installing can be as simple as adding the repository and selecting the app. PlexforBoxee can also be installed manually via USB or FTP.

To install PlexforBoxee follow these installation instructions.
