EC2-Windows

This is the standardized windows virtual workspaces with various memory and computation configurations we offer to fulfill different analytic needs. The features of this workspace is as follows:

• Version 6.3
• An EC2 Windows instance with RDP access
• Secure compute in the cloud
• System Manager (SSM) Agent installed
• Enhanced Security Configurations at launch
• Windows Server 2022
• Instances automatically shut down after an hour of idle CPU
• Includes metadata v2 enforcement
• Preinstalled: Qualys Cloud Agent, python, awscli, R/RStudio, Snowflake ODBC, Java, Chrome, Firefox, git, and git desktop

EC2-Linux

This is the standardized linux virtual workspaces with various memory and computation configurations we offer to fulfill different analytic needs. The features of this workspace is as follows:

• An EC2 Linux instance with SSH access
• Secure compute in the cloud
• System Manager (SSM) Agent installed
• ec2-user admin rights disabled
• Automatic patching at launch
• Qualys Cloud Agent installed
• X11 Forwarding ready
• Preinstalled: OpenJDK
• Instances automatically shut down after an hour of idle CPU

AWS-Sagemaker-Notebook

This is the web-based Jupyter Notebook workspace utilizing AWS Sagemaker service (AWS managed service so we don't have control over the underlying computing nodes). The features of this workspace is as follows:

• Version 2.1
• TensorFlow
• Apache MXNet
• Scikit-learn
• System Manager (SSM) Agent installed
• Instances automatically shut down after an hour of idle CPU

Please proceed with caution with all specialized workspace types, as it may incur much higher costs. We highly recommend you to consult with someone from our engineer team to identify the most appropriate workspace type for your analysis

EC2-Special-SAS

This is a specialized windows virtual workspaces with SAS pre-installed (central lincense). Due to existing SAS-dependent workloads with high demands on memory and storage, we have offered more memory-intensitve EC2 instances beyond the standardized workspace types, which may also incur higher costs. The features of this workspace is as follows:

• Version 6.2
• All features from the standardized windows workspace
• SAS 9.4 M7
• Additional memory-intensive configurations
• Additional storage
  • 60GB Core disk (SSD)
  • 250GB SAS_TEMP disk (SSD)
  • 500GB SAS_EXPORT disk (Throughput-Optimized HDD)
• Cost-effective storage
  • Network-mounted study buckets
