Player Goals: Villagers - gniftygnome/gnomecraft-skyblock GitHub Wiki

Villagers

Due to some truly horrifying disaster in which all the land fell into the void, there are no villages in the world. The player will need an alternative plan! The only way to create a village in Gnomecraft Skyblock is to collect and cure at least two zombie villagers.

Trapping Zombies

Once the player has constructed an early-game hostile mob farm, it is a good idea to have a plan for catching a couple zombie villagers. A simple way is usually a 1x2x1 box, open on the top, with stairs up to it, an open trapdoor at the top, and a roof three blocks above it. With the zombie villager chasing them, the player runs up the stairs and jumps over the open trapdoor, then waits on the other side. The zombie should follow the player and fall in the hole.

If the player does not capture zombie villagers from enclosed mob farming, the next best option is generally to create a field of some size for them to spawn on at night, and run around killing everything else until a zombie villager arrives.

Curing Zombies

The curing phase can be accomplished while the zombies are in the traps. The player will need a Splash Potion of Weakness and a Golden Apple. First throw the splash potion on the zombie villager. Then feed (right click) them the golden apple. The zombie villager should start shaking and eventually become a villager. That is the point at which the player will regret it if both zombie villagers are in the same enclosure.

Villagers

From this point on, the process is bog standard vanilla mechanics. The player can create a villager breeder and trading hall, or a fancy village in the sky full of villagers ... etc.
