View your device on the IoT Central Dashboard

  1. Switch back to the Azure IoT Central web portal.

  2. Select Devices from the IoT Central sidebar menu.

  3. Select the CO2 Monitor template.

  4. When your device enrolls into IoT Central, you may be prompted to Refresh the device list.

  5. Select your device, the device details page will open to display the device telemetry.

  6. Navigate the About, Overview, and Raw data tabs to familiarize yourself with IoT Central device view.

Create a Settings View

Create an IoT Central Settings View to set the CO2 alert level and altitude for the CO2 monitor.

  1. From the device view page, select Manage template, then select Edit template.

  2. Select Views. This image shows the views option in edit template

  3. Select Editing device and cloud data.

  4. Name the form Settings.

  5. Expand the Properties.

  6. Select CO2 alert level (ppm).

  7. Select Device altitude (meters).

  8. Select Add section.

  9. Select Save.

  10. Select Back.

  11. Select Publish.

Setting the CO2 alert level and device altitude

Navigate back to the IoT Central device view.

  1. Select Devices from the IoT Central sidebar menu.
  2. Select the CO2 Monitor template.
  3. Select your device, the device details page will open to display the device telemetry.
  4. Select the Settings tab.
  5. Set the CO2 alert level to 400 ppm, and select Save. This low value should trigger the CO2 alert buzzer.
  6. Set the CO2 alert level to a more realistic value like 800 pmm, and select Save. You can test CO2 alert levels by breathing on the CO2 sensor.
  7. Set the device altitude to tune the CO2 measurements for your location.
