ZAWA is an animal collecting and zoo building mod, so it goes without saying that players might want some other mods to make these experiences a little more interesting. Just remember that ZAWA can only be used in modpacks that are downloaded through Twitch. This page has several mods that are often used with ZAWA.

Please note that some of these mods may need extra configuration to work with ZAWA, and are not guaranteed to work on your world. The ZAWA team is not responsible for any damage done to your worlds by other mods, and not all members endorse these mods.

Biome and plant mods

Pam's Harvestcraft

Do you raise picky animals? Is getting apples to craft kibble a chore for you? Look no further: Harvestcraft is your new best farming friend. This mod adds dozens of new food crops, including farmable fruit trees to get those pesky apples. For particular carnivores, Harvestcraft also brings lots of new fish and meat options to the dining table.

This mod has built-in compatibility with ZAWA, and many of its items are specifically coded in to work well with ZAWA's diet system.

Building mods

Fairy Lights

If you see buildings or exhibits with ropes or lettered signs, chances are they're from the Fairy Lights Mod.

Fairy lights adds lots of festive, themed hanging lights that are great for spicing up outdoor areas and gift shops. Their "letter bunting" blocks are great for signs, and blank letter buntings work well as decorative ropes.

Chisel

Chisel is a simple idea with a huge impact. Chisel adds hundreds of new variations for vanilla blocks to spice up your buildings, and it's easy to use (and balanced) in a survival world, too. If you're getting a little bored of vanilla planks, stone bricks and glass, or just want something a little more modern for your zoo, Chisel is a great mod to try out.

Chisel and bits

Chisel and Bits has no relation to the last entry, but it's just as useful. Chisel and bits lets you place and cut out pieces of whole blocks, so you can make custom details down to 1/16th of a Minecraft block. It also works with many modded blocks, including Chisel's.

MrCrayfish's furniture mod

MrCrayfish's Furniture adds simple, clean and modern decorations for your world. Some pieces, like ovens, cabinets and even the toilets, work like they do in real life and are great for survival players. All of the furniture blocks use vanilla textures, which means they'll use your texture pack of choice and fit right in to your builds.
