(exhibit by fiskeorn)

Macaws are large, colorful parrots native to South America. In the ZAWA mod, they spawn in tropical forest and jungle biomes in small groups. Wild macaws may be attacked and killed by jaguars and coatimundi. As of version 2.1, wild macaws will bite players if provoked but are peaceful if left alone.

In update 2.1, macaws got a remodel and several more species variants.

Summary

Macaws are tamed with Bird Kibble and bred with Bird Vials.

Macaws are considered to have a normal activity level.

Spawning

Without additional mods installed, macaws will spawn in desert, forest, savanna and jungle biomes, including hills and mutated variants. Macaws will spawn in a group of at least 4 and at most 6.

With other biome mods installed, macaws will, by default, spawn in similar wooded biomes.

Care

Tamed macaws can use the Brush, Ball, Tire Swing and Bird Perch enrichments.

Macaws eat a Parrot-type diet.

Macaws can fly, so their enclosures should be covered in glass or grates.
