Budgets
In Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Budget is a tool under Cost Management that helps track and forecast cloud expenditures. It can be configured on either a compartment or a cost-tracking tag by selecting the budget scope parameter.
A budget tracks spending within a defined schedule (typically monthly), where you can set the day of the month to begin budget processing. It also triggers customized notifications to specified emails when the threshold metric (typically actual or forecasted spending) crosses defined limits. These limits are determined by the threshold type parameter, which is usually expressed as either a percentage of the budget or an absolute amount.
