Description
For many miles outside of Pertith farmlands are strewn in every direction. Every quarter of a mile, large stone reinforced farmhouses sit in the middle of the farm fields. Large guard patrols of several dozen armored men can be frequently seen riding up and down the roads in and out of Pertith.
Pertith’s outer wall is a massive 30ft high. The inner city is further split into 5 districts which are separated by walls and gates running throughout the city.
On the southern edge of the city is Lowercanst, filled with merchants, Mercenary guilds, hard drinking taverns and lower class housing. By far it’s the most diverse district, filled with all the races of Godkin as well as half-Orcs, kenku, tieflings and the occasional Dragonborn. The guards at this part of the city will look the other way for a couple of silver, letting all matter of rabble and danger into the city. It’s common and advised to openly sport weapons throughout Lowercanst. A thriving black market has taken hold in Lowercanst, run by numerous thief guilds and Mercenary companies looking to make extra coin.
North of Lowercanst is Highcanst. Highcanst is primarily a tradesmen district, filled with tradesmen shops of every variety imaginable. Few people live in Highcanst because of the noxious fumes from the tin and bronze smelters. Law and order is strictly followed in Highercanst, weapons larger than a knife are not allowed and guards rigorously question anyone entering the district who does not possess the mark of one of the many tradesmen guilds.
East of Lowercanst and Highcanst sits the Longdocks. As the name implies, the long district is home to the city docks. In addition, numerous inns, taverns and warehouses sit squashed up against the docks, catering to rich merchants who trade there and the lowly docker workers and sailors who are looking for a good time. In the center of the city is the smallest and most fortified district, the Kings. The entirety of the Kings is enclosed in second stone wall and has only a single gate. The Kings is home to the Pertith keep and the home of the king and queen. The Kings is also home to most of the cities nobles and half of the garrison. Few outsiders are allowed in the district and only while under armed guard.
The northernmost district, Prince Hill, is home to the wealthy merchants, the schools and most prominently, the wizard’s school and Anakim’s Library. The district is patrolled by young wizards who use magic to resolve conflicts that arise.
