Description

Grillock is a small village nestled in the Red Forest of Mercia. The village sits atop one of the many small rolling hills in the region. Sugar shacks dot the surrounding forest. Large sections of trees have been harvested west of the village where a lumber mill sits around converted farmland. Two dozen homes sit clustered together around a small temple and a inn/general store.

Houses made of red stained wood line a rocky road leading through the village. At the top of a small hill near the center of town a small temple made of wood and stone overlooks the town. Note: The rocks are large and any horses with them will have a hard time on the road.

Places

The Weary Woodsmen

A wooden two story inn sit at a bend in the road. Shuttered windows randomly dot the exterior overlooking a large outdoor deck covered by a wooden roof. A crudely drawn sign hangs in the front displaying a picture of a man holding an axe standing next to a bed.

The inside of the inn is dark, lite by a few opened shutters and candles. A large fireplace adorns one side while on the other a large bar. Behind the bar, sitting in stacks and hanging from the walls, sits a large variety of everyday wears from foodstuffs to cooking utensils. The room has several large wooden tables occupied by the human and halfling residents of Grillock.

Temple of Ehlonna

Six stone pillars hold up a roof made of red wood. Braziers sit unlit next to each pillar. The open air temple displays a single statue of a woman in a long dress holding a flower made of green and yellow stone in the center. A huge pile of flowers, trinkets and copper pieces envelope the base of the statue. Two villagers sit at the base of the statue with their heads bowed, mouthing words of prayer.

Logging Camp

About a quarter mile outside of town two small wooden huts sit next to several large piles of logs. 200ft beyond the huts sits the dense red maple forest. The area is speckled with stumps and charred holes where stumps have recently been removed. Small vegetable gardens slowly encroach on the woods where logging has felled the woods.
